On May 6, 2019, DHS began a new tradition in recognizing Seniors who receive an institutional scholarship of over $2,500 or more in an Academic Signing Ceremony. Seniors recognized are pictured with Mrs. Alana Dowdy, High School Principal and Mrs. Laura Stone, High School Counselor. After recognition, students and family enjoyed a luncheon in the BEC.
Rylee Allen, daughter of Chad and Jill Allen, will be attending SEMO. Rylee received scholarships totaling $3,000. Rylee will be pursing a degree in Nursing.
Anna Bishop, the daughter of Kevin and Lori Bishop, will be attending Arkansas State University. Anna received scholarships totaling $9,220. She will be pursuing a degree in Medicine. Anna plans on becoming a Pediatric Oncologist after medical school.
Madison Bryant, daughter of Crystal Tucker and Jimmie Bryant, will be attending SEMO. Madison received scholarships totaling $4,000. Madison will be pursuing a degree in Psychology.
Arianna Carter, daughter of Sylva and Shirley Kennedy, will be attending SEMO. Arianna received scholarships totaling $4,428. Arianna will be pursuing a degree in Elementary Education.
Sophie Freeman, daughter of Kristy Steward, will be attending SEMO. Sophie's scholarships totaled $7,500. She will be pursuing a degree as a Secondary English Teacher.
Andreus Garrett, son of Tammy and Paul Johnson will be attending Curry College. Andreus received awards totaling $70,000. He plans on pursuing a degree in Business Management and Culinary Arts
Savannah Gourley, daughter of Wendy Ray, will be attending SEMO. Savannah received scholarships totaling $5,000. Savannah will be pursuing a degree in Biomedical Science and attending Dental School.
Brooke Hessling, daughter of Brad and Helen Hessling, will be attending Arkansas State University. Brooke's received scholarships totaling $3,000 and she will be pursuing a degree in Biology-Pre-Dentistry.
Eric Hahn, son of Brad and Melissa Hahn, will be attending Washington University. Eric received scholarships totaling $57,000. Eric is currently undecided on his major.
Kelby Hill, daughter of Cory Hill and Sara Davis, will be attending the University of Missouri. Kelby received scholarships totaling $29,998. Kelby is currently undecided on her major.
Zarah Olson, daughter of Jo and John Olson, will be attending the University of Missouri. Zarah received scholarships totaling $4,750. Zarah will be pursing a degree in the healthcare field.
Coby Powers, son of Charles and Felicia Powers will be attending the University of Missouri. Coby received scholarships totaling $14,000 and he will be pursuing a degree in Biology-Pre Medical.
Macy Roper, the daughter of Tony and Tonya Roper will be attending the University of Missouri. Macy received scholarships totaling $18,000. Macy will be pursuing a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Emily Smith, the daughter of Heather and Ryan Free and Christy Smith will be attending SEMO. Emily received a scholarships totaling of $8,000. She plans on studying Nursing and becoming a Neonatal Nurse.
Brock Simmons, son the Westly and Amy Simmons will be attending Evangel. Brock received scholarships totaling $13,000. Brock plans on pursuing a degree in Biology-in the medical field.
Tristan Williams, son of Ben and Kendra Williams, will be attending College of the Ozarks. Tristan received scholarships totaling $19,200. Tristan will be pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting.
Taylor Watson, daughter of Timothy and Gina Watson, will be attending the University of Missouri. Taylor received scholarships totaling $6,000 and will be pursuing a degree in Health Science.
